November Halftime Show
I skipped October’s halftime show, but I’m back this month! If the Christmas displays at Costco, the drugstores, or the holiday music while you’re shopping didn’t already tip you off, then brace yourself—Christmas (for those who celebrate) is fast approaching!
And with the holiday season comes the quest for perfect gifts. If you like giving books – one of my favourite things to gift and get – you could try browsing the ATKReads archives for ideas, which I know some of you already do. But say you’re looking for cookbook recos, Dad reads, or good kids’ books, you won’t find those here (yet), so I’m offering myself up as a holiday book recommendation service for a limited time only!
If you know me, you know I love coming up with gift ideas, so I thought this would be a fun holiday addition to ATK Reads. Here’s how it works: simply fill out this form, and I’ll send a few personalized book suggestions before month's end. Since ATK Reads is a hobby, I’ll need to cap the recommendations at 10, so the first 10 people to fill out the form will get hand-picked ideas from me.
I’ll also share these recommendations anonymously in December’s newsletter along with my usual list in case they inspire others. I can’t promise to meet all your gifting needs, but if I don’t have the perfect pick, I'll try and point you in the right direction!
Speaking of books and midwinter, I think I will implement Jolabokaflodt this year, aka the Icelandic tradition of giving books on Christmas Eve, aka "book flood." Who's with me?
